All the information you need on the cricket section. Cricket The Club runs 4 senior teams (which include many juniors) and 5 junior teams: All players are welcome, irrespective of age, gender, ability or experience. Our Junior Academy was set up in 2003. Its aim is to provide opportunities for young people to play cricket and to develop their cricketing skills. The Club is proud of its record in giving many local young people their first taste of cricket, whilst at the same time supporting the most talented youngsters in achieving representative honours at county and national level. Currently, 3 players of the Durham County Cricket Club senior squad, i.e. Ben Raine, Scott Borthwick and Matthew Potts, all represented Philadelphia CCC at junior level.

View all information relating to our junior section. Junior Section Here, at Philadelphia Cricket & Community Club, we are extremely proud of our commitment to our junior cricket. We are family friendly and encourage parents, guardians, siblings and more to enjoy the social atmosphere in and around the clubhouse during training sessions and on game days. We are a fun, inclusive and energetic club, emphasising on players enjoyment and are always pleased to welcome children to our junior section regardless of gender, ability or experience. We have 4 competitive teams, i.e. under 9s, under 11s, under 13s, and under 15s and all teams play in the Durham Cricket League. Although there is no lower age limit to be able to play for the U11 team, coaches, in consultation with parents / guardians, will assess the skill development, physical and mental readiness of the child concerned to ensure they are playing at the appropriate level. In making a decision to "play up", coaches will ensure the child continues to enjoy their cricket, the experience is positive and developmental and the child has a supportive peer network, "Play up" is applicable both indoors and outdoors. All training sessions and games are overseen by our qualified coaches who are ECB accredited, DBS checked and first aid qualified. Our coaches are either current or former players of the Club and all donate their time unpaid and as volunteers.
