  • Junior Section | Philadelphia CCC

View all information relating to our junior section. Junior Section Here, at Philadelphia Cricket & Community Club, we are extremely proud of our commitment to our junior cricket. We are family friendly and encourage parents, guardians, siblings and more to enjoy the social atmosphere in and around the clubhouse during training sessions and on game days. We are a fun, inclusive and energetic club, emphasising on players enjoyment and are always pleased to welcome children to our junior section regardless of gender, ability or experience. We have 4 competitive teams, i.e. under 9s, under 11s, under 13s, and under 15s and all teams play in the Durham Cricket League. Although there is no lower age limit to be able to play for the U11 team, coaches, in consultation with parents / guardians, will assess the skill development, physical and mental readiness of the child concerned to ensure they are playing at the appropriate level. In making a decision to "play up", coaches will ensure the child continues to enjoy their cricket, the experience is positive and developmental and the child has a supportive peer network, "Play up" is applicable both indoors and outdoors. All training sessions and games are overseen by our qualified coaches who are ECB accredited, DBS checked and first aid qualified. Our coaches are either current or former players of the Club and all donate their time unpaid and as volunteers. Team Coach Under 9s (school year 4 and below) Tom Raine Under 11s (school year 6 and below) Stephen Hall Under 13s (school year 8 and below) Will Bailey Under 15s (school year 10 and below) Dean Caris Our coaches ensure a safe and inclusive environment for children to have fun and develop their cricket. Summer Fixtures Most of our junior teams teams play 8 to 10 league games from late April to the end of July. Games are usually once a week (weather dependent) played home and away. Each player should have their own abdominal protector and helmet for when they are batting. Players' Recognition The Club holds a junior presentation evening at the end of the season when all family members are invited. Sponsors We would like to thank A&M Electricals for sponsoring our junior section teams for 2024. Please see below the sponsors of the junior games for 2024.
