The Club is pleased to announce the following signings for the 2022 season:

The Club would like to welcome all of our new signings and wish them a successful 2022 season.

The club is disappointed to announce that Shaun Smith, who has captained the side for the last 10 seasons, has decided to move on.

He met with chairman Malcolm Pratt and the cricket committee when he explained he had no problems with the club but had found it extremely stressful during the last year.

"I've two children, both my wife and I have full-time jobs, and captaining the side just became too much. It's not only match days but all that needs to be done almost every day of the week during the season.

I did think seriously about staying and not being skipper but somehow I don't think that would have worked out.

I'm now going to play without the responsibility of being captain but I will remain a member at Phili, where I started as a junior and the Club can rest assured I will be a regular in the clubhouse" quipped Shaun.

Chairman Malcolm Pratt paid a warm tribute, saying: "Shaun has been a model player and captain for us during the last 10 seasons. He has not only captained the side but has been an ambassador for the Club. He will be a great miss but everyone at Phili wishes him well and hopefully one day he will feel able to return".

The Club has decided not to reappoint Mayank Mishra as our professional for 2022.

Mayank has agreed to join Driffield Town CC who play in the Yorkshire Premier League North division.

As a result of moving home to live in Seaburn, Max Smith, son of Shaun Smith, has decided to join Whitburn Cricket Club.

The Club would like to thank all players leaving the Club for their performances in all forms of cricket in which they have represented the Club.
